by Master Admin posted 05/08/2017

The Danbury Kids Expo, which took place at the Danbury Sports Dome this past Sunday May 7th, was a huge success! With over 50 exhibitors and hundreds of visitors, the Dome was buzzing with activity! Multiple performances from magicians to musicians graced the stage to entertain kids and parents alike! The Dome's battle balls drew a large crowd as kids lined up for their turn. There were plenty of activities to participate in, ranging from caricatures, balloon animals, sand art, and bounce houses to face painting and airbrush tattoos! Kids and adults were also informed throughout the day with a diverse schedule of hands on activities, educational displays, and demonstrations!  Thank you to all of those who stopped by for the fun!

An Exciting End to the Softball Winter League Season!

Congratulations to Ridgefield, playoff champions of the Dome's inagural ten-week softball Winter League season. Ridgefield defeated the Empire State Huskies 3-1. The Huskies advanced to the finals by defeating Trumbull 10-9 in an epic ten-inning semi-final in which the score was tied 6-6 as time expired. The teams traded blows in five tie breaker innings! Meanwhile, Ridgefield reached the finals, winning 6-5, as they held off a valiant comeback effort by Fairfield Ludlowe. Great job to all of the teams involved! It was an extremely enjoyable Winter League season.

Registration for the Dome's 2017/2018 Winter League season will open soon.

The Big "Chili" 5K Race
by Master Admin posted 02/21/2017

February 19, 2017 was beautiful day for The Big “Chili” 5K Race, conducted by the Danbury Westerners. More than 200 people showed up for the kids run and 5K, which started and ended at the Danbury Sports Dome. The 60-degree weather was nothing less than perfect for a race that wound through the streets of Danbury and Bethel. Runners of all ages came together from Connecticut and New York as well as some runners from New Hampshire, Iowa, Virginia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Indiana, and New Jersey. The Danbury Sports Dome is extremely grateful and appreciative of the support experienced leading up to and during the event from the Danbury Westerners, the community, the participants, and volunteers. Don’t worry if you missed out on this event, the Danbury Westerners are back at the dome for their 9th Annual Chili Competition on March 26th. It will be fun for the entire family with taste testing, music, entertainment, activities, and more! The Big “Chili” 5K was a huge success and we look forward to more perfect races and events in the future. After all, it’s always perfect at the dome!
